Have to download 24 MB .Net Compact Framework

The page did not tell me that I had to install the latest .NET Compact Framework. I'm not sure which version to download and the 2.0 version is 24 MB. I have an older version and don't want to add another version to it. It would be better if the site mentioned this dependency and provided a link to the framework. Also, it is not clear if the downloaded files can be played on the PocketPC. Other sites do not offer this possibility.
